Got Indian In Your Family? Are You Sure?
I have a new article up on Pop and Politics. The story is called ”Got Indian In Your Family” and is basically about the fact that many Americans share a family history of Native American ancestry, but sometimes that “Indian” ancestor may be a Melungeon.
Folks here in the South hear the question all the time, “You got Indian in your family?” and the article plays off that.
Melungeons are a little known ethnic group…but knowing whether or not you have Melungeon ancestry could save your life if you’ve ever suffered from any rare or undiagnosed ailments…like something even your doctor is not familiar with…
They’re a pretty interesting group and a great example of true racial cooperation.
