At the recent White House welcome for People’s Republic of China President Hu Jintao, 47-year-old New York based pathologist and freelance writer Wang Wenyi told him what time it was:

“Hu, your days are numbered,” she shouted over and over in a shrill voice in Mandarin and English. She was eventually taken into custody and charged by local police.

That same article also says, curiously, that “Most Taiwanese reporters were barred from the event, as were many other non-US citizen reporters from the foreign press.” WTF? What happened to “freedom of the press”?

She was charged Friday with “willfully intimidating, coercing, threatening and harassing a foreign official.” She now has to stop coming to Washington unless she has to meet her attorney or attend legal proceedings, and she must stay away from the White House. Bush also apologized to Hu Jintao.
