There have been reported complaints that cars with Louisiana license plates are being profiled in Houston. HHAPB belives that the Harris County Sheriff’s office may be specifically targeting Katrina internally displaced persons by promoting a strategy of stopping people for minor or non-existent traffic violations and illegally searching their cars and person for drugs.

If your car has Louisiana license plates and you have been stopped and searched by police officers during minor or non-existent traffic violations in Houston or other cities, please contact HipHop Against Police Brutality/ACLU at (512) 478-7300 ext. 105. Ask for KC Carter or email him at kcarter@aclutx.org
