“There Are No Active Mixer Devices Available”? Here’s What To Do!

Recently I had no audio on my pc. Clicked on the volume icon and got the message “There are no active mixer devices available.” I was like what!?!? I looked it up on the net and found the answer…then I had the same thing happen again today but could not find the website where I found the answer…so anyway this is what I remembered to do:

All you have to do – at least in my case – is go to Start > Run > Type in [Services.msc] (minus the brackets) then scroll down the list until you get to ‘Windows Audio’. Under ‘Startup type’ make sure it says ‘Automatic’ and under ‘Service status’ make sure it says ‘Started’. If it does not say ‘Started’ just press ‘Start’ and it should turn your audio back on.
