On this Veteran’s Day, Heavy Mentalist salutes the fine men and women of the American Armed Forces!

As I wrote in a post last year on homeless veterans, I have many issues with the war machine (one being its use of mostly poor men and women to enforce America’s corporate and political agendas all over the world).

But today my focus is on celebrating veterans for all their courage and sacrifice. Here are two websites with links to freebies for veterans: 14 Veteran’s Day Freebies for Those Who Served and Veteran’s Day Freebies 2011.

Some of the freebies include free meals at restaurants like Denny’s, Chili’s, and Olive Garden, and free stays at bed and breakfast establishments across the country. Happy Veterans Day!
