Updated the Last Nerve template today. I will be updating my site all through the month of April. I can’t figure out why my homepage looks so different in IE vs. Firefox though. If you have both browsers installed check out my homepage and you will notice a definite difference! Urghhh!!! This is hella aggravating.

…the folks at popsugar gave her a “worst dressed” award. Some of the commenters on the page apparently think she is giving off some type of “Aunt Jemima” vibe when I think she looks wonderful. Like she’s just out minding her biz, chillin, shoppin, j-loing, whatever. I don’t think most White people are used to sistas and Latino women wearing this type of headwrap. I wear my hair wrappped a LOT…me and Christie-Z talked about this once.
I don’t do it for any religious reasons…maybe I’ll explain why I do it in another post, but basically the main reason is that I have long hair at the moment and I find that it’s so long that it attracts too much attention. Also, I don’t want to make other women I am around unconfortable. I think most women see each other as “competition”, where I see most women like my sisters. Christie is Muslim and always wears her hair covered, but she told me folks have confused her with a cancer patient for wearing her hair covered. WTF? I guess it’s just a cultural difference. (Thanx Fresh!)
The Beat Suite Hiphop Mixshow is BACK and in FULL EFFECT!!! Be sure to tune in this evening to hear more Up-Tempo “Golden Era” Hiphop from the years 1988 – 1994 in the mix with myself, Wicked.

This is outfuckingrageous. I think Ms. McKinney’s hair is beautiful, and I was about to post that I wished she would fro her hair while she is in her congressional sessions, as she wears her hair natural anyway. What a statement that would make!
How many more assaults are Black women supposed to take before someone stands up for us!? Sadly, as always, Black women are left to fend for ourselves! I just saw breaking news on Rita Cosby that Jews in New York are RIOTING AND BURNING SHIT right now because an elder Jewish man got arrested for driving while using a cell phone. This sister in Durham definitely got done in a bad way, and NOTHING!! No one is angry for us or how we are treated every day!
Here are some of Neal Boortz’s statements (and here is the audio):
BOORTZ: For instance, or for goodness sakes, jump in and I’m gonna say — I’m gonna start out with something controversial. I saw Cynthia McKinney’s new hair-do. Have you seen it, Belinda? Continue reading...

…and added them to my Heavy Mentalist blogroll. I’ll be posting on that blog more in the upcoming months as I update my site with a lot of my old Hip-Hop articles, and I did this to seperate the blogs I read just for content from the blogs I read to learn about new music or are heavily Hip-Hop related, like AJ Woodson’s blog. AJ, fyi, was once part of the group JVC Force.

[Edit - Apr 8, 2006: this is an April Fool's Day stunt by Davey D!] Davey D passed this on in the luv4self group yesterday. Apparently, yet more people who don’t know shit about Hip Hop — read below to see one of these people refer to Paul Wall and Mike Jones as Paul Jones and Mike Wall! — are now trying to criminalize it, and by extension Black youth. Some might argue that the relentless criminalization of Hip Hop affects *all youth*, but let’s get real. More stuff like this is pointed at young Black folks, point blank, and if it’s not purposely aimed at us it certainly affects us more.
New Proposed Indecency Bill Threatens Rap Music Industry
by J.D. Cooke Washington News Wire
WASHINGTON DC-Last week’s intense debate on the plight of this nation’s immigrant population led to massive rallies and student walkouts in many cities throughout the country. The largest occurred in Los Angeles and Detroit where 500 thousand and 200 thousand took to the streets respectively to protest the bill HR 4437 that would make it a third class felony for anyone caught administering aid to those who are in this country illegally as well as for those caught without the proper pare work and visas.
